Modern Open House: Elysium 169 House by BVN Architecture

BVN Architecture have designed the generous and open house celebrates in Noosa, Queensland, Australia. Called Elysium 169 House, its wonderful location on the edge of an environmental park overlooking Lake Weyba. The sculptured modernist expression of its white washed walls and deeply carved recesses combine with thesoftening effects of finely detailed timber screens and natural finishes for a sense of contemporary elegance and refinedunderstatement.

The interplay of natural textured surfaces and abundant natural light contribute to the rich and luxurious tropical characterof the dwelling. The careful planning arrangement enables a sense of openness and connectivity with the adjacent pooland natural garden setting.

Iowa City residence with contemporary living room decorating


This wooden house with the contemporary and stylish living room interior decorating. This house namely is Iowa City residence located in Iowa, USA, built in 1941 and subsequently expanded several times over the intervening decades, was a complex mass housing a warren of rooms with no overall sense of organization. The home had one compelling feature – a large site in an established neighborhood surrounded by mature trees. The desire to liberate and organize the interior spaces and connect them to this landscape was a central theme which guided the homes renovation.

The interior is similarly direct. The first level of the home becomes a single, white, open volume with a dark mass of service spaces placed off-center. This mass subtly defines the first level living spaces. The second level houses the bedrooms while the attic becomes a playroom space, flanked by additional bedrooms.
