This wooden house with the contemporary and stylish living room interior decorating. This house namely is Iowa City residence located in Iowa, USA, built in 1941 and subsequently expanded several times over the intervening decades, was a complex mass housing a warren of rooms with no overall sense of organization. The home had one compelling feature – a large site in an established neighborhood surrounded by mature trees. The desire to liberate and organize the interior spaces and connect them to this landscape was a central theme which guided the homes renovation.

The interior is similarly direct. The first level of the home becomes a single, white, open volume with a dark mass of service spaces placed off-center. This mass subtly defines the first level living spaces. The second level houses the bedrooms while the attic becomes a playroom space, flanked by additional bedrooms.

Loft living can offer splendid views and space above all the hustle and bustle of modern life. If you are going to turn your attic into a functional room, so make sure that your contractor packs key areas in the new space tightly with insulation. You’ve perhaps been told that the lighter colors cause a room to appear bigger and darker ones make it seem smaller, however it’s quite a bit more complicated than that. If you think taupes and whites are boring, consider having a monochromatic color palette in your favorite color, or use a few colors that all give off equal brightness. Attic rooms need to have vents installed, as they will tend to get quite a bit hotter and stuffier than the rest of the house, even during the winter time (heat rises, so the attic will be a few degrees above the rest of the house when the heating is working properly). Loi Architecture have designed the Rodríguez Harvey House in Tunquen, a costal area in the central region of Chile.

The single story small house project is 139 sqm has completed in 2009. The single story wooden house is located in the upper part, in order to get the best views towards the ocean. Three volumes inside this grid containing the main areas of the house living space and bedrooms. The living area volume has a complete double height in order to get the sun light, and also protects laterally the terrace from the south-east wind. The dining and kitchen area are located one step above the living area, avoiding its furnishings from blocking the views. [Read more...]
