Aluminum House by Andrew Berman Architect
February 25, 2010
Andrew Berman Architect has designed this Aluminum House, build in 2,400 sf. The house is organized as two wings on either side of “breezeway”. The main wing has a large open space for living, dining dan kitchen, facing the distant hills across the valley. A wall of concealed storage separates this open space from the parent’s room and a guestroom.
The smaller wing has a den, two bedrooms, and discreet utility spaces. The two public spaces open onto an exterior patio, which completes the rectangular insription of the plan in the open landscape. Consideration of day-lighting, views of the landscape, and cross-ventilation helped establish a strategy for openings in the walls and roof planes.
